Tributes to the eminent composer and music director of the subcontinent Ali Hossain on his death anniversary.

It should be noted that he died on February 16, 2021 at 4.16 pm American time while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Boston. Noted eminent composer and music director Ali Hossain’s tunes and musical direction have been given by prominent artists of Bangladesh including Ghazal Emperor Ustad Mehdi Hasan of the subcontinent.

His tunes include numerous timeless songs: Dhako Jatai Na Nayan Du Haate Badal Megh Jhuma Nena Dhako, Kaat Je Toke Beseshi Good, Hey Oh My Queen You Are Mine, Khuldu Bato Mendi Bato, This Song Written With Tears, Kaat Je Toke Beseshi good etc.

One day, eminent composer and music director Ali Hossain said to Milton Khandkar, another popular lyricist, with much regret, “Milton, I did not come to sing because of my stomach! I came to love music like a madman, with devotion, with respect! Maybe I have created such a song.” Couldn’t do it! So maybe I didn’t get any strong honors, this failure is mine”.
