Companies are taking notice of Ontario’s government’s promotion as the top investment destination, with 93 percent of the nation’s job growth taking place in our province. In order to attract new investments that will create more, good-paying jobs for workers and families, our government is working across the board to strengthen current relationships and forge new partnerships, cut red tape, and train the next generation of world-class workers.

In the last 2.5 years, Ontario has secured over $25 billion in investments for auto and electric vehicles batteries. It culminated with a $102.3 million Mitsui High-tec (Canada) investment that supported 104 jobs in Brantford. And just this week, Canada and Ontario jointly announced a new auto pact to bolster their automotive sector — bringing initiatives from Stellantis-LG Energy Solutions and Volkswagen Group’s subsidiary PowerCo SE along with it, securing thousands of great jobs along the way.

The Ontario government’s $140 million Regional Development Program is taking a regional approach to enhance the province’s manufacturing sector. As part of this program, Airbus Helicopters Canada invested $645,000 in Fort Erie to acquire new equipment and technology; Numesh spent $39.9 million to expand their operations to Brantford and Brant County; Shimco North America allocated $3.5 million in Cambridge to double their manufacturing power; Veritas Tools contributed $4.5 million in Ottawa to keep up with growing global demand. In total, these four projects will create close to 150 jobs throughout Ontario.

Ontario will be ready for whatever the future holds with our plan to build a strong economy and a strong Ontario.”
