Social media monitoring organization “Graphica” has published information in this regard. According to them, more than 24 million people visited these websites in September this year. Which is really alarming.
According to Graphica, most of these websites have taken the dishonest route of such nudity just to promote it. It is observed that the incidence of these has increased since the beginning of 2023. Advertising on Medium X (formerly Twitter) and social media sites like Reddit increased visitors by 2400%. These sites use AI to create perfect nude images of people. Most of them deal only with women. A representative of Google said that they do not favor these campaigns. They are already working to remove these ads.
“Here you can create something that’s very realistic,” said Graphica observer Santiago Lakatos. Deepfake videos used to be a bit murky. But now times have changed.
He also said that some websites are selling subscription for money. By exploiting the attraction of viewers, they are earning viewers with these fake videos in exchange of 9.99 US dollars per month.
These events strike fear into everyone’s mind. Because, they publish fake immoral videos. Now innocent human faces are being used by AI. The general public is making different comments about this. Many are reporting themselves as victims. Some are protesting and demanding action to stop this.
Those involved in these crimes are being traced. Besides, they are being punished. A North Carolina child psychiatrist was sentenced to 40 years in prison in November. This doctor used artificial intelligence to create fake videos using pictures of his patients.
