A four-nation ice hockey tournament was held from February 12-20, 2025, in Montreal, Canada, and Boston, USA. The tournament was called the 4 Nations Face-Off and featured four teams: Finland, Sweden, Canada, and the United States.
After defeating two other teams, Canada and the United States made it to the final, which took place yesterday in Boston. The match lasted until nearly midnight and was broadcast live. It was an intense battle between two neighboring countries—once allies, now rivals.
Ice hockey is the most popular sport in both nations, and when it’s a crucial game between Canada and the USA, the excitement reaches a whole new level.
The final was watched by none other than Donald Trump for the USA and Justin Trudeau for Canada.
As the game stood at 2-2, both nations were swept up in a frenzy, desperately hoping for victory.
Hardly any Canadian missed this match, setting everything else aside. The same was true in the USA—everyone was praying for their country’s win in their own way.
Before the match started in Boston, Trump personally met with the American players, encouraging them to bring home the victory. This was confirmed by Karoline Leavitt, the 27-year-old Press Secretary appointed by Trump, who jokingly announced that if the USA won, Trump would fulfill his long-standing wish to make Canada the 51st state of America.
Trump has been obsessively pushing this idea, constantly saying that Canada will become the 51st state and that Trudeau will be its governor. It’s enough to make anyone’s blood boil!
On the Canadian side, patriotism reached new heights. The entire country was furious at Trump’s remarks. Massive demonstrations with huge Canadian flags swept across the nation.
A “Made in Canada” movement surged, encouraging Canadians to produce and buy locally as an act of national pride.
During the final match, as emotions ran high, Canadians told reporters:
“We can’t talk now anymore, we just want to cry to see our victory in this match.”
Then, suddenly, Canada scored one more goal and won the match! The entire country erupted in celebration, with leaders and Trudeau overjoyed.

“You can’t take our country – and you can’t take our game.”
Trump, however, remained defiant, declaring:
“Even if they won the game, we will still make Canada our 51st state and call Trudeau our governor!”

Meanwhile, although Trump insists on annexing Canada, a portion of his own country’s people seem to want the opposite. Some Americans held banners directed at Canada, reading:
