Mr. Namo was portrayed beautifully in the movie. His character was incredibly captivating to me, although I enjoyed all the characters to some extent. Namo’s death was quite upsetting. Spanish movies, especially the dramas, are of very high quality, which is why Spanish cinema is synonymous with excellence for movie buffs.
We know that food, water, and a good environment are essential for survival, but in challenging and difficult times, it’s our morale, willpower, and the ability to laugh wholeheartedly that help us forget our lack of food and water for a while. These qualities provide us with mental strength.
Bonds weaken the mind. Therefore, the weaker a person is, the greater their need for connection. Everywhere there was cold ice. A group of injured people were struggling against the white snow, enduring the cold. Hunger was destroying their humanity. Their emotions were becoming frenzied. While eating the flesh of their dead companions, they had forgotten how to open a chocolate wrapper. They were all passengers on a plane. Many died in the plane crash. A few survived. Although I’ve seen many movies of this type, the story, direction, locations, and dialogues were exceptional.
The memories of love from loved ones provide the encouragement and strength to keep going. The scene in the movie where they chewed on cigarettes was excruciatingly painful. Huddled together in a broken plane, it was the epitome of humanity. Some were facing death head-on, sensing their own mortality. As death neared, one person said that after they died, others would eat their body. In extreme danger, people are forced to become cannibals, but even then, their humanity, though dormant, never completely dies. Yet, in our society, people who are well-off and comfortable often lack humanity.
The end of the movie was quite enjoyable. A two-hour film can be a bit boring. Amidst danger, there was even more danger. The beautiful message of this movie is that hope means hope. If you have hope in your heart, light will surely come. The movie also teaches us to face challenges together. Even in danger, there was laughter, fun, and joy. Mental happiness is everything. To survive the greatest dangers and the battle against death, one needs a joyful mind, a little hope, a bit of self-confidence, patience, and a smidgen of intelligence.
Preferences dialog:
Numa Turcatti: Don’t lose faith.
Arturo Nogueira: I have more faith than I ever had in my whole life.
Their joy when finally rescued was palpable. Brushing your teeth with happiness, taking a bath and hugging your loved one is so much fun. Loved ones chose death and returned. The rest are just memories. White cold ice is the witness of their memory.
The plot of the movie was 1972. A Uruguayan flight crashes en route to Chile. Several passengers died and a few were injured, but some passengers fought and survived while others died while surviving. 16 survived in the end. There were a few rugby players on the plane. Some of them survived. The movie is directed by DA Bayona.
