These countries do not have a single airport on their land borders. That is, no aircraft flies within the country. It sounds unbelievable but it is true. However, it is not at all that each of these countries has made such a decision voluntarily. The topography of the countries is an obstacle to the construction of airports. Let’s see the names of such countries-

Vatican City
Vatican City is the smallest country in the world. There are only 800 citizens of this country. Its size is so small that it was not possible to build an airport. There is not even water as an alternative transport. It is good to say, it is one of the countries in the world, where one can travel on foot. However, there is a railway system here. The nearby Fiumicino and Ciampino airports can be reached in just half an hour by train.

San Marino
Located near the Vatican City, San Marino is one of the oldest monarchies in the world. Next to it is Italy. Due to its small size, no airport has been built here. The roads are spread like a net in this country. Residents travel through it. The nearest airport is Rimini in Italy. That’s what the residents of San Marino use.

Andorra
Located between France and Spain, this country is completely mountainous. It is surrounded by mountains up to 3000 meters high, which is dangerous for airplanes to take off and land. It is surrounded by airports like Barcelona, Girona.

Monaco
Monaco is the second smallest country in the world. All three of its borders are with France. There is no airport here either. Nice Côte d’Azur Airport in France is the closest. That is what the residents of Monaco use when necessary.

Liechtenstein
A state with a circumference of less than 75 km is Liechtenstein. It is also surrounded by mountains. On top of that, there are some diplomatic issues. Due to these reasons, the airport was not built here. Citizens travel about 120 kilometers by car or bus. The nearest airport is Zurich.
