Ontario Provincial Police Veterans’ Association Chapter 18 members Ron and Sharon Allen and family (also known as The Goldie Gang and The Magnificent Seven) have been involved with the Simcoe County Alzheimer Society’s (SCAS) Annual ‘Walk for Memories’ for 22 years. As far as can be determined, The Goldie Gang is the longest continuous participating family team in Canada. To date, their pledges have totaled almost $61,000.

In recognition of their contributions, the CEO of the SCAS, Debbie Islam, this year honoured The Goldie Gang with a painting of Forget-me-nots (2021), by artist Tania Taraniuk-Caputo of Prince, Ontario. The Forget-me-not is the adopted flower of the Alzheimer Society.
