Ginny and I waited for more than half an hour after nagging the kids, and a surprise started! In time many tourists began to accumulate; Maybe it was in a nearby residential hotel. The Parliament Buildings in downtown Ottawa are as beautiful during the day as they are at night. Covering huge areas, like perfect high definition pictures. Children are running and playing in the field in front of the building. Lovers are walking holding hands, some are sitting. Many have brought their families. Someone or alone.
It started a little before ten o’clock. Totally broke my idea! It’s not just the lights. The parliament building is lit up with lasers, music, and people’s voices are filled with hundreds of years of Canada’s heritage, from before independence to today. Amazing sound quality from the huge hidden speakers far away! Undoubtedly a wood burning event with much care and love.
In the meantime, I jokingly tapped the two children and said, “You’re not going to stay and go home?” Oma, they did not take my words into account! But a little while ago they were mad to go home.
Hundreds of people were trapped like magnets for more than half an hour. The love of country was awakened and everyone’s mind was filled with emotions. Just what I was fearing or apprehensive, that is; Canada’s National Anthem rang out in sweet melodious tunes, to the exquisite rhythm of the orchestra. When the eyes got wet, I did not understand. They are very bad.. very bad. Couldn’t cry? Well, how much I have fallen in love with the country without knowing it?
And at the end we all clapped together, to whom did we actually give it? The country? Who is society or people?
Really everyone! Thanks to everyone in this country. Everyone’s restraint, patience, honesty, humility, gratitude, solidarity, brotherhood, hard work, effort, respect, patriotism-love, our Canada is made with great care!
