A program to mark the arrival of poet Asad Chowdhury’s beloved granddaughter Mishti’s spouse Ishfar in Canada. Dear poet has been sick for a long time. Several people will be coming so the poet tells his sons that he also wants to attend the event. Come and go as you do. His name is Asad Chowdhury.

The poet came from home with great difficulty but he had to go to the hospital after the event. A couple of guests from the poet’s family say something to the guests when the poet is invited to say a little something. The poet then shook his head and disagreed. No, the poet said nothing.

We who buy tickets for various programs sit to listen to poet Asad Chowdhury. He could not say anything at the family function. Instead, he was rushed to the hospital by pushing the wheel chair. He greeted the guests with a smile on his face while leaving.

Many people know that I am a very brave person. But in some cases I become very weak. In some situations my courage gets hijacked. I did not dare to stand in front of the man whom I thought was the king of words when he could not speak due to illness. If he approaches, he thinks to himself, you can all talk. why i can’t But our faith and prayer is that soon he will come back to the stage with a smile on his face. Come and say, ‘I am talking about responsibility…

We who love poetry. We who are devotees of people. They still want to hear the story of the poet’s drinking. Then he would come and tell and keep telling how our freedom war was. Then say the two earthquakes called Freedom and Mukti in rhythm. Finally tell the history of the roar floating on a forefinger. We wait for that day.

Kabi Kanya told us that the doctor allowed Asad Chowdhury to go home from the hospital. Now he is with his elder son Asif and wife Sahana Chowdhury and is feeling somewhat healthy.

Many people call poet Asad Chowdhury the poet of ‘Tabak Deya Paan’. I was lucky enough to get a cup of tea made by him. This surprising incident happened at Shanta-Munir’s house.

Tabak Deya Paan
My whole body does not want to come home
Maybe the whole body
Never returned home.
I didn’t notice it before.
And what would have happened?
I am not going to the doctor for treatment
Sahan, I have come to you.
Let’s see now
some parts of my body
somewhere outside
Did you drop it?

(Poetry; Tabak Deya Paan.
