The 17th Toronto Bangla Book Fair successfully concluded

The 17th Toronto Bangla Book Fair has concluded successfully. The largest number of writers and publishing houses of Bangladesh participated in the book fair organized on July 22 and 23.

The slogan of this year’s fair was alternative books. Last Saturday, the fair started with a procession from Shaheed Minar. After that, former VC of Noakhali Science and Technology University Professor AKM Saidul Haque Chowdhury cut the ribbon at the main venue of the fair at 9 Dodge Road.

A large number of book lovers come on both Saturday and Sunday. This year the book sold as expected. Consul General of Bangladesh High Commission Mohammad Lutfar Rahman, MPP Dolly Begum, Toronto Book Fair convener Sadi Ahmed, writer Hasan Mahmud and others participated in the guest session on the first day afternoon and they wished the success of the book fair in their speech.

In the two-day fair, literary discussions, literary seminars, author-reader meetings, publisher introductions, North American poetry festival, special recitals, special musical performances, film screenings, solo recitals, ballads Chandalika, voice acting, didimni’s asar were successfully completed.

The fair ended with the convenor’s vote of thanks and closing remarks. My sincere thanks to all concerned who have worked tirelessly to make the fair a success. Thank you to all the authors, publishers and readers of the Book Fair.
