Both humans and dogs have thousands of bacteria in their mouths that can make us sick. If kissing pets was dangerous, we’d always be sick. But it doesn’t. Because usually the bacteria in a dog’s mouth is not harmful to us. However, this does not mean that kissing a dog is completely safe.

When not to kiss pets?
Your pet’s mouth is ‘cleaner than a toilet seat’ – the old saying that many people believe to be true. This statement can also be proved wrong in many cases. Because many dogs have very poor dental hygiene. Kissing such dogs can lead to plaque build-up and gum disease. With its help, the bacteria in the mouth can also grow rapidly. Therefore, pets with dental disease should never be kissed.

Disease can spread from humans to pets!
Some other infectious bacteria, such as E.coli, Salmonella and Staphylococcus are cause for concern. All of these bacteria can be present in your pet, causing either severe symptoms or no symptoms after exposure. Ringworm is a fungal infection that is easily spread from cats to humans.

Not only that, some diseases can also be transmitted from humans to pets. A study has shown that the coronavirus can be transmitted from humans to pets, especially cats that sleep in beds with their owners.
