Eating disorders can be of different types. Notable among them are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder. Although they sometimes have similar symptoms, each of them is actually very different and completely different from each other. In this article I will try to give a brief description of each successively.
In many cases, people are haunted by the fear of gaining this extra weight. He hurts himself by not eating properly, finds excuses to not eat all the time, vomits even if he eats a little too much, or becomes restless due to excessive exercise. I am writing in detail below.
Anorexia Nervosa – This is the most common of the various eating disorders. The disease usually occurs in the teenage years and is more common in girls than boys. Even though they are severely underweight, they feel overweight and think about it all the time. It makes it very difficult for them to lead a normal life. As you can see, Aarti is a slim girl who looks like she will fly in the wind. But, when the friends all go for ice cream, he runs away. He doesn’t eat his favorite chocolate anymore.
He would do anything for Cadbury’s orange peel flavor, he would skip dinner if necessary, but before going to bed at night, before brushing his teeth, he would have a single bite of Cadbury’s orange peel flavor for so long. Suddenly what happened! What insects came to the head! He eats only boiled vegetables, and even when his loved ones bring him that special and desired flavor of Cadbury’s chocolate, he turns a blind eye. She has anorexia nervosa. Mother is very upset with his behavior. Whenever he eats any food, he first appears with a calculator, thoroughly calculates the calories of all the ingredients of that food. Then, he calculates how many calories he has already consumed since morning, measures how many calories are in this food, and then decides how much he can eat.
The family members are very troubled by this, and the friends are angry with him. But the strange thing is, even though he understands everything, he doesn’t understand it, nor does he want to understand that his weight has decreased at an alarming rate and is steadily decreasing. Day by day is getting worse, yet he eats more and more. In some cases, even though suffering from this disease, they lose a lot of weight, mysteriously they still cannot be called underweight. But their struggle continues. Conversely, interestingly, some people with this disorder also display obsessive-compulsive symptoms. In that case, even though they play so much, they are always engaged in searching for food, collecting various recipes, looking for food every now and then, and hoarding food. Such people cannot eat easily in front of others, they eat in secret, and because they are always concerned about their body image, they always think of themselves as overweight, they feel so embarrassed to eat in front of others that they can no longer eat food with ease and enjoyment.
Like that day, Mitu went to the office party. So, when his favorite black forest cake was cut in front, he wanted to fly like superman and smash a big piece first. But if you want? He has anorexia nervosa, how will he eat? So everyone does not play even after a lot of Sadhasadhi. Meanwhile, as soon as the cake eating phase was over, as soon as everyone took to the dance floor, he pounced on the cake, swallowing the two largest pieces of the cake whole without biting them. Couldn’t enjoy poverty and eat, couldn’t survive the irony. And what can you do? What happens if the rules are left! After glancing around, making sure no one was watching, she shoved the whole piece of cake into her mouth, just as Molly had to go to the bathroom. And where does it go? Read the gardener’s neck! Right between the dance floor and the bathroom, he was devouring that huge piece of cake! Molly couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw him eating those happushupus. He just said in a dry voice, “You said, don’t eat cake!”
At the end, Molly had to run to the bathroom as soon as she remembered. But the discomfort remained in Mitu’s mind throughout the week, nothing could be easier with Molly or other colleagues, she just felt that everyone was whispering about her for sure. The bottom line is that patients with this disease can eat a lot of cake without counting, and can even try not to eat at all. However, noticeable symptoms include feeling overweight, binge eating, going to the sink or commode to throw up immediately after eating, exercising excessively, or using laxatives or diuretics. The most important thing is that by doing this, the patient is not getting the necessary nutrients, causing damage to the body. And if it continues like this for a long time, at one stage they may develop osteoporosis. And hair loss, nails becoming thin and brittle, suffering from infertility is very normal for them. In the last stage of these patients, the heart, brain, or multiple organs deteriorate, and people may die.
Bulimia Nervosa – When suffering from this disorder, the symptoms are more or less similar to those of anorexia nervosa. Like the former, it affects girls more than boys, and its prevalence is more noticeable in the teenage years. However, what makes this disease different from the previous one is that when suffering from it, the person becomes addicted to a certain food, over a period of time, and consumes it excessively. For example Jaseem Sahib for his diabetics, the wife takes pains to measure with a cup, grows rice with her own hands as per the doctor’s advice, fills the remaining third with protein and vegetables even if you put one third of rice in the food plate. Even though the wife is so careful and the food intake system is in operation at home, everyone wakes up in the morning to see that four or five rasgolla are disappearing every day in the middle of the night.
Even if there is no one at home! At this stage, people forcefully eat, and seeing that, as many of us said then, it is not so much the hunger of the stomach, but the hunger of the mind. The patient then feels out of control, unable to stop at anything, or unable to restrain himself from eating. Be proud! More interestingly, many times during these episodes people eat foods that they may not have liked before. For example, Mobin, who has been avoiding rasgolla all his life, suddenly spent five or six rasgolla when everyone went to sleep every night when he was at the wedding! Previously, when hot rasgolla was made in the morning in the neighborhood shop, even if all the friends played in line, he would not eat it! Seleucus…
However, along with anorexia nervosa, these patients also vomit after eating too much, they want to get it out of the body, many of them start gasping after eating too much, so that if they don’t vomit, they can’t move anymore. But the good news is that people suffering from this disease do not lose or gain much weight. Roughly the matter remains stable. Other symptoms are similar to anorexia nervosa. However, it can cause several side effects such as sore throat, swelling of salivary glands, erosion of tooth enamel, other damage or loss of teeth, acid reflux, arthritis pain, dehydration, hormonal complications, etc. In more severe cases, sodium, potassium, and calcium-like electrolytes may become imbalanced in these patients, which may lead to stroke or heart attack.
