The first Bangladeshi movie made about the Chakma caste. The beauty of this movie is more than amazing. My By Cycle movie proves that a different kind of drama movie is possible in Bangladesh as well. From the story, location, dialogue everything is charming. While watching the film, you will get lost in the dramatic frame of the battle of life in the struggle for happiness and survival, where many good and bad things are highlighted, including wife’s love, love of children, sociability and obstacles.
The hilly area is presented very beautifully in the movie. The livelihood of the Chakmas, their culture prevails. Both men and women work very hard in mountainous areas. Our Bangladesh is a country of many cultures, a country of many colored people. We all are one and the same Bangladeshi.
Due to various complications, the movie has been blocked by the censor board. Years are passing, not seeing the face of light. But hopefully it will see the light of day.
Now talking about how I watched the movie. Bangladesh Short and Independent Film Festival is held every two years in public libraries and museums. I worked in the 2012 and 2014 festivals.
The film My Bicycle was screened at the festival in 2014 with a joyful atmosphere. I happily said that’s why many viewers were interested in watching the movie even all of us who worked especially we were interested after seeing the name and poster of the movie. The largest hall of the public library was full. Many have seen the ticket. A different kind of drama to like.
A few days ago I saw a post on Facebook where it was written that the movie is stuck in the censor board. I thought to write something about this movie.
The movie is directed by Aung Rakhine. Dada has kept a bright hope in his heart for many days. Waiting for when it will be released.
Our life is like a two-wheeled bicycle. The bicycle chain is a symbol of our conscience, intelligence and hard work. If the chain is correct, the bicycle will reach its designated dream destination.
Albert Einstein said, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep balance, you must move forward.”
You have to go through the ups and downs. This movie teaches us not to give up. Life teaches you to fight with what is in front of you. How Komal earned his livelihood with his bicycle.
Naive Mr. Kamal lost his job and moved to the hill village. The last possession with him is a two-wheeler symbol of life struggle. Although the son is happy to have his father near him, he has nothing to give the family except a bicycle. So his wife is very unhappy, very angry. The poor man cannot afford to please his wife. But the two wheels of fortune kept moving forward. Kamal is not disappointed, optimistic. His last hope is on two wheels.
This bike taught him to dream, to struggle. Suddenly luck opens because there is only one bicycle in the whole village. He started earning by crossing. There are many problems in this. I don’t want to give spoilers.
The movie is criticized for two things. But these should not be taken too seriously. The movie is open so that it can smell the free air.
The naive Kamal character will be quite good. Wife’s love is suddenly overflowing on that bicycle. Because money means happiness. Suddenly his house is illuminated by the light of the full moon.
The pitch of the battle of life is suddenly broken again. The boat is ferrying broken bicycles. Kamal’s dreams and his thoughts may not have been able to cope with the competition of time. The pedal wheel looked at the engine wheel in silence. Just watch in silence. The river water is very calm.
If you see the last scene, you will feel sad for Kamal. A painful scene to remember. Kamal’s bicycle is not only his vehicle, it is his traveling companion, his dream.
Awesome movie. I want to see it again if it is released on 8/10.
