Introduction
In the words of the poet, life is like a rich river. Tidal Periods of health or illness are closely related to the frequency of these life events. Along with basic human needs like food, clothing, shelter, health protection is his basic birth right. The scope of the word health care is huge because its main basis is the responsibility of the state to protect the health of the people. Health services are the right of the people. And health services are not limited to treatment only, but also include prevention, treatment, rehabilitation of health problems and health research. This is the modern definition of health services in the world since the dawn of civilization.
The main premise of Canada’s health sector is that it is a need-based, government-funded sector that is not dependent on the economic capabilities of its citizens. Canada’s pride is its universal health care system, which is provided free of charge to citizens at the first point of contact (doctor’s chambers, hospitals, emergency departments). The business name of this health service is Medicare.
my experience
As an immigrant, when I first set foot in the city of Toronto, it cannot be said that I was not more or less worried about my own treatment with various concerns of adapting myself and my family to the new country, the weather, making myself for the livelihood of this country. It was not clear how exactly we would get treatment. Within 2/3 days of arriving in Toronto, the family appeared at the Service Ontario office and applied for a health care card, and after completing some formalities, we received the OHIP card. OHIP stands for Ontario Health Insurance Plan. By getting this card, we got the right to get basic health services in Canada easily and very quickly. Because that day I got the right to get health services in Canada. But at the time I was not very aware of the structure of Canada’s health care industry and its specific features or who was covered by it. Because wherever the paddy is, he must break it! As a former student and teacher of Public Health, health service business in my country and abroad has been one of my courses and favorite subjects throughout my life. Because during the busy time of immigrant life, I could not have the opportunity to learn much about the health care industry in Canada. Course professor Dr. while taking a master’s degree on clinical research at Oxford College in Ontario. In Nicholas’s class, I learned more about the health care industry in Canada and did well on the test. It was then that I learned that Canada’s health care industry, Medicare, has created a unique model of health care in the world.
The story of the beginning of Medicare
Saskatchewan, a Canadian province known as the birthplace of Medicare. A political leader named Tommy Douglas notices that a Winnipeg boy is about to lose a leg due to osteomyelitis. His parents did not have the economic ability to treat the boy. A few more such incidents shook his mind. Later, when Tommy Douglas was elected Premier of Saskatchewan for the Social Democratic Party, he introduced universal public health insurance in Saskatchewan for the first time in Canadian history in 1947. The main aim and objective of this insurance is to remove financial barriers in accessing health services. Later, this health insurance plan spread across the country and was eventually codified into a Canadian federal government act known as the Canada Health Act, 1984.
The Medicare health care industry is one of Canada’s pride and place as the bearer and bearer of the Government of Canada’s commitment to care, justice, equity, solidarity and commitment to its people.
Features of Medicare as per Canada Health Act –
– Public administration run and publicly funded.
– Comprehensive and comprehensive healthcare services.
– Universal.
– Portable health services. Canadian citizens can get Medicare even if they travel to any Canadian province or territory. But Canada is outside the country
Medicare coverage is limited and conditional.
– Access. Canadian citizens have the right to health care covered by Medicare regardless of their financial means. They can access health services and receive medical care regardless of whether they live in a city, village or anywhere in the country.
– Need-based services that are provided free of charge.
One of the pillars of Medicare is the health card. In different provinces of Canada, this health card is named according to the name of that province, but its features and functions are based on the principles of the Canada Health Act, 1984.
Ohip card
I am a citizen of the province of Ontario and my health card is known as OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan). If we want to describe the benefits or importance and importance and limitations of Ohip card then the oldest six hundred questions of health science can be explained.
who Where? What? When? Why? And how?
First of all who will get this Ohip card
– Ontario, Canada is your own residence.
– 153 days must be in the first 183 days.

Where to find primary health care in Canada
Canada’s health care system is more of a decentralized provincial and territorial insurance plan than an established national system.
Canada’s primary health care begins at its first point of contact with the public, which can be found at doctors, hospitals, emergency departments and, in some cases, dentists. Also, all types of medical tests related to diseases, surgeries and ambulance services for serious health problems are covered under Medicare or Ohip card.
Starting from the first meeting with the doctor, completing various tests to diagnose the patient’s disease, providing continuous support in medical services and providing specialized treatment based on need and treatment by specialist doctors. Keeping the patient under close observation until the patient is fully recovered and providing rehabilitation if necessary are the various stages of primary health care. These services are related to each other like a chain or garland. This entire process of primary health care is covered under Ohip Card.
Ohip cards are not really an Aladdin’s lamp, but they also have some limitations.
Not available on Ohip card
– Eye treatment prescription drugs
– Home health services or home care
– Dental treatment (but currently some special dental treatment services are available).
– Cosmetic or beauty treatments
Areas of Special Advantage of Ohip Card
The OHIP Card offers special opportunities for at-risk communities in Ontario. Senior citizens who have crossed the age of 65 and young women including children up to the age of 24 are entitled to free prescription drugs. And those in refugee status will have access to prescription drugs, but will lose access to prescription drugs when they become permanent residents.
Four types of government-funded specialty dental services are offered in addition to Ohip cards for Ontario’s at-risk populations. These include dental health services for seniors free dental care for children dental care through Ontario’s disability support program
Dental services for Ontario’s working poor.
Personal insurance plan
Employed people get private insurance through their employer to cover certain health services not covered by their OHP card, such as prescription drugs or dental care. Besides, OHIP cannot give any good news for those who do not have the benefit of private insurance. They have to rely on their own pockets for prescription drugs and other services that are not covered by OHP.
It cannot be said why Gauri Sen will give Rs 100 health card to anyone who needs treatment in Canada. As discussed earlier, to get health services through Medicare, certain rules of residence in Canada must be covered. Ohip cards also have limitations. For example, some very urgent treatment (cardiac surgery or any other urgent surgical treatment, serious injury due to accident etc.) you will get it very quickly. But you may have to wait a long time to get some chronic health problems like knee or hip surgery or other less urgent problems.
But it is undeniable that Canada’s health care system is one of the exemplary health care programs in the world. In addition to providing treatment or ensuring patient well-being, prevention of disease, discovery of new vaccines and drugs, conducting advanced medical research is one of the commitments of Health Canada.
Canada’s health care business, Medicare, is a collective pride that is inextricably linked to each other through a tripartite social contract of three forces (government, providers and the people of the country). Which is constantly engaged in ensuring the physical, mental, social health of its citizens.
last word
As a Canadian Bangladeshi, I feel proud that numerous Bangladeshi doctors, nurses, various levels of health care technicians, researchers, teachers are working very successfully in Canada’s health care system and have continuously made it dynamic with their talent and labor in Canada’s health care system. They are proud partners in Canada’s health care system.
A comprehensive discussion of Canada’s health care system is not easy or possible on this small scale. I just tried to generate some ideas.
